- Details: To execute Trace Dependents selection must point to a cell or range having formula. Select the cell for which you want to identify the dependent cells. To display a tracer arrow to each cell that is dependent on the active cell, on the Formulas tab, in the Formula Auditing group, click Trace Dependents.
- These two buttons allow you to trace (and turn off trace) precedents in a formula. A precedent cell is one that is referred to by a formula in another cell. B9 through F9 are precedents, because they are referred to in the formula in cell G9. As you can see, the trace precedents button shows you the relationship between the cells.
- Show All Precedents. Excel natively traces precedents only for the active cell in a selection of multiple cells. In other words, Excel only shows you trace arrows for one cell at a time. Macabacus, on the other hand, shows precedent trace arrows for all selected cells at once.
